Tycon Power Systems

The BreezePro® Series Wind Turbines from Tycon Power Systems are lightweight at less than 10.5kg and are designed for ease of installation and long service life. The generator is a very low cogging force design for better performance in light winds and is packaged in a fully sealed die cast aluminum enclosure. There are no brushes to wear out or cause electrical noise and the bearings are sealed so the system is maintenance free. The blades are glass reinforced nylon for high strength, UV resistance and fatigue resistance. The turbines are available in a single model that is compatible with 12V and 24V battery systems. The controller autoselects the charging voltage based on the battery voltage. The turbine also includes an integrated charge controller with integrated dump load resistor. Using the dump load helps to prevent premature braking in high winds. This helps optimize the power available for charging the batteries.

The permanent magnets used are Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) for higher power output.

Mounting is to the top of a 41mm (1.6inch) ID standard pole (pole not included). The hardware used is stainless steel for corrosion protection.

Includes complimentary TP-BATTMETER-24 while supplies last.

Wind Turbine on Board
We are currently in Belize and we have plenty of "Trade Winds" to keep it going full time. This new updated version of the turbine we bought from you three years ago is working like a champ. I think we even sold one for you to another sailboater. (He bought it through a third party on line.) Anyway the turbine is producing the additional wattage we needed (along with our solar panels) to keep our batteries up and charged as we like them. We have had no problems with the unit like we experienced with the other two previous versions. Before installing the unit I sprayed it down with Corrosion X and it appears to be holding up well in this salty marine environment. I might mention that the unit is pretty quiet, which is a plus for a boat installation where folks are sleeping aboard. It does however produce a certain amount of vibration which I have dampened with various rubber bits and pieces. Some factory installed shock mounting/vibration dampening would be a definite improvement if you are interested in marketing to boaters. Thanks so much for standing behind your product and delivering a version that fulfills our needs. We enjoyed being your Beta Team on the water. And even though the first two versions didn't work; we feel the Tycon turbine is a good value compared to the others we looked at and we will recommend your product to our fellow boaters.
